Welcome and many thanks for visiting our website.
"Münchner Oncology" is a day hospital and ambulance for Internal Medicine with the main focus on Oncology, Haematology, Haemostaseology and Clinical Immunology.
The philosophy of "Münchner Oncology" is based on an individualized and holistic cancer therapy.
Goal of "Münchner Oncology" is to treat cancers in a comprehensive and holistic approach. It is not primarily the disease which lies in the centre of our medical attention, but the sick man. Our therapy concepts are based on the medical, social and psychological needs of our patients and are specifically tailored to the individual. We can draw on experiences from different areas of medicine.
We are an international cancer centre.
The "Münchner Oncology" is open to patients from different cultural backgrounds. We provide the service in different languages and also consider the cultural and religious needs of our domestic and foreign patients. As an international centre of expertise and services, we are in contact with other cancer centres worldwide.
We offer the whole spectrum of modern cancer diagnostic and early detection.
Whether modern laboratory medicine, such as identification of biomarkers, specific laboratory diagnosis on circulating tumour cells (at the cellular and / or RNA level), and on human genetics, or the latest and most innovative method of medical imaging - such as PET / CT diagnosis, or whole-body MRI diagnosis - we rely on advanced technologies that provide detailed insights into the disease process.
We support your patient competence and give you a "second opinion".
The correct treatment of tumours can decide on life and death. With our experienced oncologists you can get a second opinion in the form of an extensive report. Here, various options of treatment are critically discussed and compared with each other.
We offer each patient an individualized tumour therapy.
Our treatment recommendation is based on the nature of the disease, their circumstances, their history and the treatment goal. But most of all we orientate ourselves to the desires and needs of our patients and their families. They are, therefore, after a detailed explanation of the options, firmly integrated into the decision process.
In addition to the standard therapies, we also offer innovative cancer treatments.
Depending on the treatment plan, we use chemotherapy, hormone deprivation, or radiation therapy to treat any type of cancer. If advanced disease may occur, we also treat with innovative anti-cancer strategies such as anti-angiogenesis (the starvation of cancer), immunotherapy (with monoclonal antibodies and cytokines) or use so-called targeted molecules, whereby the tumour growth-stimulating signalling pathways will be interrupted. Already well-known medications were also applied in a so-called off-label way, provided that there is sufficient medical evidence on their efficacy and safety in the cancer entity under consideration.
We also offer diagnosis and treatment of diseases other than cancers.
In the day hospital and ambulance of "Münchner Oncology" we are not only engaged in diagnosis and treatment of all types of oncologic diseases (foremost patients with breast cancer, colon and stomach tumours, lung tumours, pancreatic tumours, tumours of the urinary tract (e.g. renal cell carcinoma, bladder carcinoma), tumours of the female and male genital tract (ovarian carcinoma, cervical carcinoma, testicular carcinoma, prostate cancers) and patients with ENT tumours, brain tumours, tumours of the skin, and sarcomas of the soft tissue, skeletal and connective tissue), but also in the treatment for malignant hematologic diseases (diseases of the hematopoietic system). This mainly concerns patients with chronic leukaemia (lymphoid or myeloid), myelodysplastic syndrome, malignant lymphoma (Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin) and multiple myeloma. Diagnosis and treatment of benign hematologic diseases (not based on an underlying malignancy) include anaemia, thrombocytopenia and neutropenia, as well as disturbances of iron and copper metabolism. Haemostatic disorders under our treatment mainly include thrombophilia (thrombotic diseases) and bleeding disorders (e.g. clotting factor deficiency, etc.). In addition to antibody deficiency syndromes, much focus is put on the treatment of autoimmune disorders of the hematopoietic system (see above), the nervous system (multiple sclerosis, peripheral autoimmune neuropathies), the neuromuscular transmission (myasthenia gravis), the blood vessels (vasculitis), the joints and the skeletal tissue (rheumatoid arthritis, connective tissue diseases), as well as autoimmune diseases of the large intestine (inflammatory bowl disease), liver and thyroid.
